Sabbatical at NCEMS
NCEMS hosts sabbatical visitors each year.
Our Sabbatical Program offers scholars the opportunity to dedicate an extended period to research at NCEMS, accelerating our center’s research objectives. Participants are provided with the center resources and collaborative environment necessary to drive significant advancements in synthesis research.

Sabbatical applications are reviewed by the center’s internal and external advisory boards, thematic leads, and center leadership. Factors for selection include the proposed collaborative scientific activities, and their potential to foster knowledge exchange and community engagement within NCEMS. Key considerations include the applicant’s scientific area, their expectations from the sabbatical, commitment to community interaction, potential for knowledge transfer, and, for senior applicants, the ability to mentor and inspire NCEMS’ community.
