Our Values
NCEMS is advancing science knowledge and is a national model for collaborative team science. Through collaboration, consultation, and leadership with students, faculty, staff, and community partners, NCEMS is driving innovation, focusing on outcomes, drawing from the entire scientific community of the nation, and positioning NCEMS as a model Center of Gold Standard Science, openness and collaborative partnership. Our goals include: fostering and curation of scientific collaborations in areas such as AI and Biotechnology, creation of mentoring and educational research programs for workforce development, and enhancing institutional partnerships.

Through our comprehensive educational programs, we are fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary synthesis research culture enriched by multifaceted perspectives. These programs are specifically designed to nurture a synthesis mindset by embracing all collaborative partnerships and to promote a welcoming atmosphere. Our goal is to enhance faculty (especially early-career faculty) and student engagement in our summer internship and remote research programs, thereby enriching our scientific working groups within the NCEMS ecosystem. We are committed to forging wide-ranging scientific partnerships and collaborations across all NCEMS activities. Presently, NCEMS collaborates with three institutions through our NCEMS Faculty Fellowship Program.
