Hold a Catalyst Meeting

A self-organizing community coming together to identify new and compelling synthesis opportunities. A call for applications is anticipated in Spring 2025.

6 - 12 Scientists. Two Days. Discussing questions and data that might be primed for community-wide synthesis efforts.

Catalyst meetings are proposed and organized by community members, take place in-person, and lead to one or more proposals to the center to form a working group to pursue a well-defined synthesis question.

Catalyst meetings are typically held at the Penn State University Park campus. The organizers of a catalyst meeting will be required to undergo training on team-science communication, be offered facilitation support, and ensure diverse representation of participants.
